In the shadow of giants

The active volcano Popocatepetl, which means"mountain that smokes" in the Nahua language, looms above the valley of Puebla in central Mexico.

Next to it is the dormant Iztaccihuatl volcano, which means"white woman", because its snow-covered peaks look like a woman laying down.
